The DOJ Needs to Release all of its findings
We respectfully request that the Department of Justice to release the information and data summarized in the Ferguson Report. If we as a nation are to continue moving forward in our efforts to create a fairer, more just United States, we must have transparency – we must know what our leaders and our institutions are doing.
Respecting privacy concerns, the Department of Justice should release information on the Ferguson Police Department cases and records it examined.
The Ferguson Report alludes to serious abuses of police discretion and authority, to the point where the DOJ recommends fundamental changes in how the Ferguson Police Department operates. We need to know what those abuses were – we need to know what the DOJ found when it examined the records and operations of the Ferguson Police Department. We as a nation are having a conversation about what we expect of our police. We need to know how Ferguson, the starting point of this conversation, was policed.
